ERRORS (BIAS±RMSE) of GOES-10 RETRIEVED LSTg COMPARED TO LSTs OBSERVED AT SIX SURFRAD STATIONS DURING THREE YEARS: 2001, 2004, 2005. Algorithm #6 [Yu et al., 2009] with four sets of coefficients: Day Dry, Day Wet, Night Dry, Night Wet. DISCONTINUITIY IN GOES-10 RETRIEVED LSTg CAUSED BY SWITCHING FROM DAYTIME TO NIGHTTIME SETS OF RETRIEVAL COEFFICIENTS AT DOWN (85°≤ Zsun ≤ 90°). MEAN±STANDARD DEVIATION DISCONTINUITIY IN GOES-10 RETRIEVED LST CAUSED BY SWITCHING FROM COEFFICIENTS SETS DRY TO WET CONDITIONS AT ZONE OF UNCERTAIN TPW (20 ±2 mm). MEAN±STANDARD DEVIATION ERRORS (BIAS±RMSE ) of GOES-10 RETRIEVED LSTg COMPARED TO LSTs OBSERVED AT SIX SURFRAD STATIONS DURING THREE YEARS: 2001, 2004, 2005. Algorithm #6 [Yu et al., 2009] . The same, Night Dry, set of coefficients is used for LSTg retrieval at all conditions. • Conclusion: • There is no necessity to use four different (Day Dry, Day Wet, Night Dry, Night Wet) sets of coefficients for LST retrieval in the Algorithm #6 [Yu et al., 2009]. • Using one single (Night Dry) set of the coefficients, increases precision of retrieved LST and solves problem of LST discontinuities at boundaries between DAY and Night and between Wet and Dry conditions.
