In this passage, we can conclude that the style establishes the quick encounter of Marin and Geraldo. The simple sentences and fragmented sentences mirror the simple conversation that they had and leaves us wondering more about these characters. It is important to notice that the rhythm of the sentences also sounds much like music, which would have been all around Marin and Geraldo the night he was killed by a hit and run.
