HCAL HV update – II, 23/05/2012, after fill 2651. More details in http://lblogbook.cern.ch/CALO/2103. Since correction-I we got 122/pb, the average LED signal in the HCAL centre had decreased by >2%. Correction-II: reference: fill 2583, CaloDAQCalib-114322-20120503T020756.root

HCAL HV update-III Since HV update-II, ~70 pb-1 delivered. The HCAL HV is proposed to be updated again today, but the only reason is the magnet polarity change. The gain drift in the HCAL centre is ~1.3% for the moment, no significant trigger rate drop seen. Therefore no significant change expected. HV update-I HV update-II HV update-I HV update-III ? ECAL gain drift LED response drift in the matching ECAL area, in the same time interval. One can see ~7% reduction of LED signal by now, and looks stabilizing. In principle, the ECAL HV should be corrected as well. Unfortunately the ECAL PMT gain reduction cannot be directly extracted from LEDs, because of the radiation damage of clear fibers used for the LED light transport. The work is ongoing on determining the ECAL correction procedure.
