  1. 9/12 Word Problems Equations (finish) Inequalities (tomorrow) MONDAY BM # 2

  2. Finish 7 stations 10:30 am

  3. 9/11 • Writing Equations to Word Problems • TWO examples • Stations Benchmark 2 – Practice

  4. Josh and Maria have bought an older home that needs some repair. After budgeting a total of $1685 for home improvements, they started by spending $425 on small improvements. They would like to replace six interior doors next. What is the maximum amount they can afford to spend on each door?

  5. Your Turn

  6. Volunteer a student to show their work up on the board

  7. 7 Stations @ each station define the variable write an equation solve the problem.

  8. s = length of each side. Station 1 8s = 124 s = 15.5 in. Station 2 x = cost of gas per mile 972+114+105+7600x = 1837 x = .085 or 8.5Ȼ Station 3 n = # of students that can attend each meeting 2n + 3 = 83 n = 40 Station 4 x + (2x +8) + (2x + 8 +3) = 94 x = 15 x = Jose’s age

  9. C = cost per student Station 5 Student cost + Adult cost = 1800 50(30 – C) + (50/5)(45) = 1800 C = 3 Station 6 n = # of lamps broken Cost deliver lamps + cost broken lamps = min payment 12(125) – 45n = 1365 n = 3 Station 7 Both cans can hold the same amount of soup (same volume) h = height of can A ()(r2)(h) = ()(22)(3) h = 8 1/3 units
