  3. Four realities of a ‘true friend’ are… • Someone who helps you when • you’re down • How can you tell the difference between acquaintances and friends? • Proverbs 17.17 “A friend loves at • all times…”

  4. Someone who provides • emotional/physical strength • How am I going to make it • through this right now? • There are two kinds of people in the world, encouragers and discouragers • Why not decide to be an encourager!

  5. Someone who will fight to protect • you or your reputation • True friends never stab you in the back, they have your back • Gossip is when someone says something negative towards someone who isn’t present

  6. Someone who is committed to • helping you spiritually • Proverbs 27.27 “ As iron sharpens • iron, a man sharpens his friend” • True friends want to see us continue to grow • Proverbs 18.24 “…but there is a • friend who sticks closer than a • brother”

  7. John 15.13 “Greater love has no one that this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends.”
