  2. The Curriculum Center/Media Library Services administers all library/media centers in the elementary and secondary school with emphasis on support for enhancement of the curriculum. NASA resource center and program Support for school libraries Professional development for staff technology skills A resource for administrators in all curriculum areas. Information media skills curriculum (limited) Upholds and promotes general policies of ALA and AASL. Mission/Scope

  4. Achieve full staffing All school libraries implement automation program 100% of collections complete and up-to-date Adopt a library media skills curriculum in the District/Territory Goals

  5. Elimination of hiring freeze should solve position vacancy problem assuming the trained cohort is still available for hiring after years of waiting. Administrative support in ALL schools would eventually have all school using the library automation system. Administrative support in ALL schools could eventually lead to 100% collection development in the school libraries. The St Croix school district administration should recommend the library media skills curriculum to the Department of Education. Challenges/Potential Solutions

  6. A draft curriculum has been created in consultation with the STTJ school librarians. It is based on both the standards of the American Association of School Librarians and the International Society for Technology Education. (NET-S) Once adopted a scope and sequence and pacing guide can be developed. Curriculum/Standards

  7. The new automation software go-live date was April 1, 2011. Literally many hundreds of decisions on the design and function parameters of the automation software were successfully made in cooperation of the St Thomas/St John District. All librarians (except one) have received basic training on the automation software. The training window closes November 11, 2011. The wording of the non-negotiable District items for the e-SIP plans includes the school libraries for the first time. This means funding is possible for the libraries. Accomplishments
