What about textbooks for school classes?
Dixie College Bookstore Psychology class Upper Division 24 hardcover +1 e-book = 25 students Digital Book - $49.00 Regular Text - $115.00
State of Utah College Bookstores BYU, U of U = 2-3% Digital Sales UVU, SUU, Dixie, Snow = 1% Digital Sales
Special Note – There is a bigger demand for audio books in colleges than there is for digital books. Why? Because of students who have difficulty reading.
Other thoughts at Dixie with digital texts • So many college students are now re-entry students who prefer • traditional books. • Is that an age factor? • Or simply what they are used to and don’t like change. • 2. No computer at home, forcing students to do • ALL reading and homework at the school computer center • 3. Other class styles – 1/3 digital book • 1/3 interactive online • and 1/3 classroom instruction
