What he’s famous for • In the year of 1912, a young scientist named Alfred Wegener noticed that South America and Africa seemed to go together like a puzzle. Wegener came up with the theory of Pangea, the big piece of land centuries and centuries ago. Then the continental drift and all the pieces of land split into different pieces.
Early Life • Alfred Wegener was born in Berlin. He studied at the universities of Heidelberg, Innsbruck, and acquired astronomy. He dreamed of exploring Greenland, and meteorology.
Achievements • Wegener achieved lots of things in his life. He achieved kiting, and expedition to the artic, and taking better whether observations. He also achieved a world record for an uninterrupted flight that lasted for 52 hours.
