Your logo Pia Holmin Infracontrol ABconsultantpia.holmin@infracontrol.com • Supported by the INTELLIGENT ENERGY EUROPE program of the European Commission
Project progress My focus will be on: • FAT Factory Acceptance Test • SAT Site Acceptance Test • OAT Operational Acceptance Test • Training and education 2
Project checkpoints • FAT: Factory Acceptance Test – first checkpoint • SAT: Site Acceptance Test – second checkpoint • OAT: Operational Acceptance Test – third checkpoint
FAT (Factory Acceptance Test) Why? • Verify that requirements will be fulfilled (energy etc) • A opportunity to learn about the system functions and to learn how to do the maintenance • Possibility to make any adjustments or corrections before installation on site – it is often cheaper to make adjustments early • An approved FAT – allows partly billing
FAT (Factory Acceptance Test) How? • A subset of the equipment – do a bench test modem localcontrol system supervision system
FAT (Factory Acceptance Test) How? • Inspection of luminaries, fittings, temperature tests • Inspection of construction drawings
FAT (Factory Acceptance Test) How? • Maintenance - what is required from future maintenance personnel? • Alarms - 4 questions to be asked for every alarmOwner – who will do something? How do this person be aware of if there is an active alarm? What to do? How to repair it – which spare parts and tools are required?
FAT - testprotocol How? • Follow a FAT protocol with predefined test cases Example from a project in Gothenburg
SAT (Site Acceptance Test) Why? • Verify that the equipment is functioning “On Site” in its real environment • Verify that the light on the road surface fulfills all requirements • Verify that the energy saving will be as expected • Can even more adjustments be done in order to save energy or to get a better function? • An approved SAT – allows partly billing
SAT (Site Acceptance Test) How? • Inspection of a subset of luminaries, fittings, drainage, placement of light sensor • - is there any risk of sabotage or other external risks? • Do some functional tests in order to verify the function in its real environment • with focus on “worst conditions” (Make a maneuver on the luminary most far away) • Simulate power failure, restarts of equipment • Data communication in its real environment – is it functioning? • Do an evaluation of the light on the road surface – maybe dimming levels have to be adjusted?
SAT - testprotocol • How? • Follow a SAT protocol with predefined test cases Example from a project in Gothenburg
OAT (Operational Acceptance Test) Why? • Verify that the equipment is functioning “On Site” in its real environment over a predetermined period • Verify that the energy saving will be as expected over a longer period • Approved OAT – allows partly billing
OAT (Operational Acceptance Test) How? • The period has to be predetermined in procurement and also described how this is to be done • Do follow ups maybe through data collections or measurements for example: - the energy consumption- any alarms that the system causes • Do follow ups on how the equipment worksfor example: - Faults on technical equipment, what is replaced and why?- Faults due to malfunction
Training andeducation Why? • Good maintenance is one key to customer satisfaction (the public) How? • Parts of training and education can be done during the project progress. • Maybe a future “systemowner “ (the person that will administrate the system) can take part already at FAT, SAT and during OAT • Try in an early stage to find out who will maintain this and what education that is needed to be done. • Don’t be afraid to try to find younger persons or the persons that use to handle IT technique and computers. • Do look around you – IT technique is today common for many persons and they maybe know more than you can yourself. Try to use this knowledge!
Thank‘sforlistening! Do not hesitate to contact other municipalities or net works that have been working with ISL because then we exchange information and experience and start the communication to find the best solutions for ISL.
