2. Spending money • School will operate a school bank • Maximum of £100 to be changed prior to travel into euros • The bank will operate on an evening where students are allowed to withdraw money for the following day • This keeps money safe and locked away and also ensures your child does not spend it all at once! • Money will be required for some evening activities, sweets and food and presents • We advise that your child has some money on their person for the journey • It is parents choice how much money your child brings

3. Staffing • There will be in total 7 adults from BBEC accompanying the ski party • 5 of these are teachers of which there is a first aider • Along with two PE students teachers • Miss Jones, Mr Bailey, Miss Monks, Mr Wilson, Mr Jenkins, Miss Warner and Mr Beenham

4. Website • For your information, information about tonight and the trip will be available on the BBEC website by next week • You can also look on the TGM website for information regarding insurance etc

5. House keeping • Paperwork – please return all outstanding paperwork to Mrs Duggan as soon as possible so the group passport can be ordered • Attention is drawn to the payment plan, all payments must be paid in full by the beginning of January • Behaviour contract

9. Tour Organisation 2012 The holiday is organised through the Ski Company ‘ TGM Snowsports’ which is a fully bonded organisation with a track record of running school and college adventure holidays.

Ski Leadership • The Ski Leadership and Instruction will be provided by a combination of our own team of staff in conjunction with local ski school. • TGM staff are qualified teachers / youth workers / Alpine Ski Leaders / British Association of Snowsport Instructors / Professional Ski Instructors of America qualified • All those responsible for groups are qualified Alpine Ski Leaders or Nationally approved Snowsports Instructors • All have extensive experience of leading ski groups and introducing skiing to young people. • All are qualified First Aiders

12. The Transport Coaches– The group will be collected from school and returned to school. TGM Snowsports operates only high specification coaches and the coach operators must adhere to the strict safety regulations regarding Drivers' hours as laid down by the DOT. All coaches will be equipped with - toilet / wash-hand basin, dvd, stereo and PA system, reclining seats with seat belts and a drinks machine. Coaches will, where necessary, carry snow chains. Coaches have full breakdown cover and international rescue for both the vehicle and occupants.

Luggage - VERY IMPORTANT • Luggage space will be at a premium as the coach will be full. • Luggage will be limited to • one medium size SOFT holdall • one SMALL bag of hand baggage – sandwiches, drink, iPod, books, magazines etc for the journey • HARD SIDED CASES WILL BE REFUSED • OVERSIZED BAGS WILL BE REFUSED • PLEASE DO NOT BRING THEM THEY WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED

25. Ski HelmetsSki helmets used to be the butt of many jokes. Now they are hip, comfortable and could save you from serious injury. Helmets are also much warmer than the average cap or hat. How to buy a ski helmet - 1. Look for a helmet model you like. Some helmets cover the ears and others have ear flaps, and they come in a variety of hues from gray to neon yellow. 2. Measure your head. Wrap a measuring tape around your head directly above your ears and forehead.

26. Protective Headgear The main current norms regarding alpine helmets are CE-EN 1077 and ASTM F-2040. Only helmets answering to these norms ensure a real protection. In Europe, to conform to the EPI guideline (individual protection equipment), alpine helmets must be validated according to the CE-EN 1077 by an accredited European laboratory (i.e.: TÜV). 29. Progressive Awards Can be used to support both GCSE and A level PE and the holiday can be used as part of the video assessment.

31. Itinerary Day 1 – Fri – Early depart from school to catch the channel ferry crossing from Dover. Continue by coach with comfort stops en route. Day 2 – Sat – Mid day arrival in resort. Check in to rooms. Collect ski hire equipment. Hot dinner and welcome meeting.

32. Itinerary Day 3-7 - Skiing each day and apres-ski organised in the evening. Day 8 – Vacate rooms after breakfast and load coach. Depart for skiing returning to the hotel via ski hire. Early evening dinner in the hotel. Depart by coach for Calais journeying overnight with comfort stops en route. Day 9 – Sat – morning short sea crossing and arrival home during the early evening – approx 1900h.
