  4. Track & Field All Track events will take place on Sports Day Thursday 14th July Field events will be performed in PE Lessons the week beginning 4th July Year 7 Thursday 7th July Period 5 Year 8 Wednesday 6th July P 2 & 3 Year 9 Friday 8th July Period 4 Year 10 Friday 8th July Period 5

  5. Trials • Only students competing in a Sports Day event will be able to come and watch on Thursday 14th July. • Every Thursday since 28th April 3.15-4.15pm the students have the chance to practice their event. • If a student comes to the Thursday trials, just once, they are guaranteed to be able to watch Sports Day. • Students also gain a House Point for every time they attend.

  6. Tutor Team Selection • All Tutors should have received their Team sheets in their Tutor trays. • You will need to select two students for each event. • Students are allowed to compete in two events plus a relay KS 3 or three events plus a relay KS 4. • The idea is to try and get as many students participating as possible. • Please nominate one student who can be used by the PE Department on the day to help but will not be competing. These student will still need to be in PE kit. • Team sheets must be completed and given back to the PE Department by Wednesday 29th June so that we can place the students names in the programme.

  7. Clothing • Students will need to wear a white t-shirt/polo shirt and will be given a brand new House bib to wear. • All competing students including reserves to be in kit! • Students must compete in black shorts • Students will need to attach a coloured letter of their House to the front and back of their top. (Students bring 8 safety pins! PE Department does have a small supply)

  8. Banners & Posters • The PE department have professional banners for each House. • Students are free to make their own banners and flags. • Some Houses even have their own chants • Green Army!!!!!!!!!!

  9. Scoring System • 1st Place – 6 Points • 2nd Place – 5 Points • 3rd Place – 4 Points • 4th Place – 3 Points • 5th Place – 2 Points • 6th,7th,8th,9th,10th Place – 1 Point • Ten bonus Points if two students are entered for an event • Minus ten Points if no students are entered for an event

  10. Participation Rewards • All Sports Day participants will be given a free breakfast on Monday 18th July • All winners of events will receive a certificate stating their name, event and achievement. • Only Sports Day participants & trialists are allowed to watch Sports Day.

  18. Arrangements for Sports Day • Timetable of Events for Thursday 14th July • 8.30am - Competitors arrived changed in P.E. kit. They • do not need to bring uniform. • 8.35am - All pupils register • 8.55am - Competitors then come out on to the field by • 9.10am with their chair. All chairs to have a • sticker with a child’s name and room name upon it.

  19. Arrangements for Sports Day • 9.15am Welcome to parents • House Procession along the 100m straight • House standing after Field events • 9.35 SPORTS DAY EVENTS • Fifth 5 House Competition • 11.00-11.15 Break as normal. Students register in Tutors • at the end of break. • 11.15-1.10 Competition Continues • 1.10-1.15 Students return to Tutor bases with chairs • Lunchtime when all students have returned.
