What is a gallery walk? • You teach each other about a concept • First, each group makes a poster showing all the energy transformations in a closed system. • Closed System examples are supplied • Second, each group takes a tour of other groups’ posters and take notes. • Third, each student does an independent practice activity to help cement the ideas.
Energy Transformations in a closed-system ---- Posters (Day 1) • Each group will make a poster. • Teacher will provide the Topic list of closed-systems, requirements, and materials. • Professional Poster due at the end of class.
Gallery Walk (Day 2) Part I • Walk around the room and fill out Energy Transformation Chartfrom the other posters.
Gallery Walk (Day 2) Part II • Reflection Questions • 1. What scientific law is demonstrated by this activity. • 2. List the different types of energy found by doing this Gallery Walk. • 3. Give an example of a closed-system not used in the Gallery Walk.
