  4. The funding • Donations from corporations – 7,5 mln. EUR (26 % of all declared donations) • Donations from individuals – 0,5 mln. EUR (36%) • State subsidies – over 5 mln. EUR without competition • Social contracting – almost 9 mln. EUR for social service provision (20 % of all state-supported services)

  5. The international perspective Civil Society Sustainability Index • 3.4 – worst in the last 10 years • Decrease in 6 out of 7 areas • 4.6 – financial viability (12th place) • 4.4 – organizational capacity (23rd place) • World Giving Index - 145th place • 13 % giving money • 5 % giving time

  6. The political environment • The Strategy for Support to the Development of NGOs – adopted on 5 September 2012: • Creation of a Civil Society Development Council; • 3 priorities – working partnership; financial sustainability and active citizens. • Vision for a new funding mechanism - still no money from the state budget • Planning for the next EU cycle

  7. The problems • People do not trust NGOs • NGOs can hardly influence decision-making • NGOs face serious financial problems • Follow the mission or follow the money? • People moving to the administration or the business
