B A R Enhanced Failsafe Protection • SP3070-3080 include an Enhanced Failsafe • Failsafe protection if inputs either open or SHORTED • Protects if there is a termination resistor on the line • Protects if bus-driver is off (tri-state) or loses power • Protects if wires were pinched together, bridged or shorted • Most standard RS485 will only failsafe if the receiver inputs are OPEN • i.e. if the cable is unplugged, inputs floating • Advanced Failsafe guarantees logic 1 if A=B (shorted or open) Company Confidential
