Most electrical devices that are found in electronic circuits usually have two leads. Examples of two-pin devices include capacitors, resistors and inductors. Three-pin devices include transistors. Modern integrated circuits can have hundreds, even thousands of pins. The average modern computer’s processor has more than a thousand contact pins. There are many different forms of contact pins, most of which are shaped in a particular way for a particular task.
