  2. Build It, Then Link It • Type out your table of contents and continue to build your PowerPoint presentation. • When you are all done, then you can make your table of contents interactive.

  3. An Example This is the third slide. A Table of Contents for this PowerPoint might read: • Title Page • Build It, Then Link It • An Example On the next slide are step-by-step directions to create links from this type of list.

Example - Directions • We’re going to start with a link to the title page. • Highlight the text you want to link with your mouse. • Click “Insert” then “Hyperlink” • Click “Place in This Document” • Click on the plus (+) box next to “Slide Titles” • Click on the slide you want to link to and click OK • Repeat these directions for each item in your table of contents. Check out the next slide for the example, now hyperlinked!

Adding a Link Back to Contents You can either create a link back to contents by inserting a text box on each slide, or you can create a permanent link via the Slide Master To create a permanent link for the whole presentation: • Click “View” then “Master” then “Slide Master” • Click on the “footer” box and delete it • Click “Insert” then “Text Box” • Draw the text box where the footer box used to be • Type some text such as: Back to Contents Page • Highlight the text in the box with your mouse. • Click “Insert” then “Hyperlink” • Click “Place in This Document” • Click on the plus (+) box next to “Slide Titles” • Click on the table of contents slide title and click OK • Click “Close”
