3. The Lean Manager Certification Program What is it?
A highly interactive and fully accredited program that teaches a carefully sequenced arrangement of Lean concepts and tools
Over four non-consecutive weeks, participants will experience a series of learning modules focusing on all aspects of Lean implementation. In between the weeks of training, students need to apply the methods that they have learned in operations at their own companies and present their results to the class.
5. The Lean Manager Certification Program What are Application Exercises?
Hands-on activities that allow the participants to practice the methods learned during the classroom session.
Participants, working in teams, will leave the classroom and go into the workplace. Participants will apply the methodologies learned during the week’s training sessions to a real-time manufacturing process at a local host facility, under the guidance of the program instructors.
6. The Lean Manager Certification Program What is the homework all about?
At the conclusion of each week’s training session, homework assignments will be made. These assignments are structured to further reinforce the learning that takes place in the classroom sessions.
Homework assignments will include items such as gathering and analyzing information to facilitate planning for your transformation process, developing your current and future state value stream maps, designing manufacturing cells, a mistake proofing application, cause and effect problem solving, a target quick changeover project, etc. At the time homework assignments are made, detailed requirement information will be communicated to each participant.
7. The Lean Manager Certification Program Where is it held?
Sessions are held on the campus of The Ohio State University at the Fisher College of Business. Accommodations for participants are in the adjoining Blackwell Hotel. This newly constructed upscale hotel is connected to the classroom building by covered walkway. The OSU campus is located just 20 minutes from Port Columbus International Airport. Both the hotel and meeting facilities are state of the art.

Participants who successfully complete the four-week training and mentoring program, pass the final certification exam and have demonstrated successful implementation in their own facility will be certified as Lean Managers.
