South African Airways was founded in 1920 and today SAA is the largest airline in Africa, boasting one of the youngest aircraft fleets in the business. • With the introduction of a full Airbus long-haul fleet, the average age of SAA aircraft is now close to 4 years. • SAA is proud to be recognised as a SkyTrax 4 star airline and for being awarded “The best Airline to Africa” by European Business Travellers. • Nice to know • SAA operates 28 weekly flights from the following gateways to South Africa. • LHR twice daily to Johannesburg (Code share with SAS from CPH) • FRA daily to Johannesburg (Code share with SAS from CPH) • MUC daily to Johannesburg (Code share with SAS from CPH) • SAA fares from Denmark allow full flexibility in use of gateways. It is possible to travel from a range of Danish points, such as AAL, AAR, BLL and of course CPH. • From Johannesburg, SAA offers an extensive network in South and Southern Africa, at very attractive add-on fares. • SAA is a member of STAR Alliance and both tier and bonus points are earned with any STAR Frequent Flyer Programme • SAA offers Business Class Departure Lounges in JNB, CPT and DUR as well as an arrival lounge in JNB. • These Business Class lounges are also available to STAR Gold members.
