GMax 6000 is a high-performance synthetic gear lubricant. It is specially formulated to provide superior wear protection, extended gearing life, and reduced energy consumption in Falk industrial transmissions.
Mineral oil PAO (Polyalphaolefin) Viscosity G-Max -20 0 40 100 Temperature, °C What is GMax 6000? • GMax is a poly-alkaline glycol (PAG) synthetic lubricant designed for enclosed gear drives. It has the highest viscosity index (VI) of any synthetic industrial lubricant.
Significance of VI • The VI property relatives to film strength, with a higher value providing more film strength. • GMax 6000 provides the very best protection against micro-pitting compared to mineral or PAO synthetic oil…one of, if not the, main failure modes for a variety of gears in gear drives. GMax 6000 Temperature Range -30ºF – 235ºF
How can GMax 6000 help reduce energy consumption? Not only does the film strength prevent micro-pitting, but it will also reduce energy consumption to run the gear box based on the reduced friction coefficient as shown below. Friction Coefficient
Thermal Stability Example PAGs degrade into volatile components which would flash off from the system, and low molecular weight materials which would remain soluble in the body of the fluid (meaning they do not develop into deposits in the oil). This gives the PAG base fluid exceptional cleanliness and zero deposits over its system life. This is not the case with PAOs. (See example below)
GMax 6000 is Water Tolerable • Water soluble, therefore it does not separate from water • Contains special corrosion preventative additives • Retains appearance After addition of water (10%)
GMax 6000 Extends Operating Life to 15,000 Hours • Ability to handle harshest conditions • Lower operating temperatures • Low coefficient of friction • Water tolerable
GMax 6000 is not compatible with other PAO synthetic or mineral oils GMax 6000 is not compatible with other products, therefore when they are mixed, deposit will form creating significantly reduced oil cleanliness leading to undesired product performance
G-Max Benefits • Unparalleled Temperature Capability • Superior Thermal Stability and Longevity • Unique Ability to Manage Water • Reduced Operating Temperatures and Energy Savings • Favorable Environmental Health and Safety Characteristics
G-Max Factory Fill 10 year Gear Warranty Peace of Mind The gearing in Falk drives factory filled with GMax 6000 lubricant shall be warranted for a period of ten years from date of shipment against tooth failure due to excessive wear or surface distress. This warranty is limited to surface hardened gearing only and is fully dependent upon the proper maintenance and care of the GMax lubricant. This includes but is not limited to documentation of regular and customary oil sampling to ensure performance of the lubricant. This warranty does not cover bearings, seals, through hardened gearing, or other parts of the gear drive. Note: GMax cannot be used in Falk models AR, ARM, ARJ, AXV, LHX, LBX, Z1S, MR, MRH and other gear drives with painted internal surfaces. GMax compatibility has not yet been approved for Rexnord or Link-Rex branded reducers.
GMax 6000 Available Quantities • Package Sizes • GMax is available in 55, 5 and 1 gallon containers • Factory fill • - Sold by the gallon when factory filled • - x gallons * per gallon rate
GMAX 6000 Key Industries • Mining • Bulk Material Handling • Pulp & Paper • Food & Beverage Interchange Opportunities • Mineral Oils • PAO Synthetic Lubricants Why Sell Rexnord Geared Products • Perfect “Add On Sale” for the total package • Lowest total cost of ownership, Extended Warranty • Factory Fill as a convenience • Sell for problem applications – Water, Life, difficult to reach applications, Thermal problems
Gear drive breathers are a common source of moisture and particulate contamination. These two factors cause - Premature gear drive failure - Reduced lubricant performance/Life Need to Breath
AirMax Breathers • “Inhalation cycle” - The media blocks moisture from entering the drive • “Exhalation cycle” - The media allows the moisture to exit the gear drive.
Rugged Performance • Operating temperature range -40ºF → 200ºF • Plated steel core prevents media distortion • Change out schedule recommended every two years under normal operating conditions
AirMax Features Pleated media to maximize surface area and prevents moisture ingression Reversible flow through media allows moisture to exit Light weight design allows for easy installation – only requires hand tightening Oil attracted to media – oil droplets drain back into the gear drive Housing material is made from corrosion resistant ABS plastic material
