  2. Monday, December 19 from 4 until 5 • Tuesdays (all) from 4 until 5 • If you are struggling with the reading, need to work on a paper, want to conference, etc. come to room 607 every Tuesday for extra help. Everyone is welcome; some will be strongly encouraged to attend. Extra Help

  4. Catch up on reading; finish second third of your IR packet and turn in (20 minutes) • Are you behind on reading Huck Finn? You should be through chapter 28. If you have finished your IR reading, use this time to catch up on that reading. SSR

  5. What is right? • What is wrong? • How do we justify our actions? What do you think?

  6. In your literature circle groups, trace Huck’s moral development looking at it through Kohlberg’s theory of thought and behavior. • Use the map to plot the points where Huck Finn’s moral growth culminates in a crisis of conscience and a decision to assist Jim. Ex. When Huck tells the two slave hunters there is only one man on the raft and he’s white. • Each group will share their findings and continue to plot Huck’s development. Huck’s Moral Development

  12. Presentations – 2 • Then to the library. Narrow down your perspective. Answer the questions in the packet to guide you. • Thesis due next class.

  13. Thesis statement. Make sure it is ARGUABLE. Example: • The use of “whiteness” in Moby-Dick illustrates the uncertainty about the meaning of life that Ishmael expresses throughout the novel. • Catch up on TAOHF reading through chapter 32 and quotes. • Study Vocabulary Q1 and Q2 so far (see slide in this power point) • IR second third due NEXT class.
