Archetype (also called Universal Character) A character that represents familiar meanings and basic human experiences regardless of time period.
These are also sometimes called STOCK characters or STEREOTYPICAL characters. Common Archetypes: The innocent, naïve character The regular guy The hero The caregiver The rebel The jokester The wise man
