Progress Report - Spring Term • Successfully recruited 3 School Sport coaches to work within the Partnership. • Placed these coaches and various others in numerous schools to deliver lunch time and after schools clubs. • Developed a Coach database to be available via the SSP website with contact details of over 40 highly qualified coaches in a wide variety of sports.

  18. Future Actions & Requirements • Constantly update website database to include more experienced available coaches for varied sports. WWW.WVTSSP.NET/COACHES • Use these coaches to assist young people in developing to the next level of competition or in joining an local/community sports club. • Evaluating coaching to work in partnership with schools and coaches to ensure quality focused coaching for pupils.

  19. Requests for Assistance - Summer Term • Schools attempt to utilise the website database for recruiting coaches. To stop individuals coaching more than one sport. Ensuring high quality coaching across sports. • Continue to maintain audit of coaching with help from all schools and clubs. • Develop links between schools and local clubs to place club coaches in schools to provide pathways for pupils.

  20. SSP Central Venue Leagues • Several Yr 3/4 Football CVL’s took place last term, Bishop Barrington, Teesdale and Wolsingham Comp all held successful events well received by pupils and staff. St. Johns Comp and Parkside Sports College have declared an intention to set up leagues this term. • The Partnership would like to thanks the schools who participated in the Central Venue Leagues, those who did so and continue to will be eligible for coaching support to work with squads to prepare teams for competition and will have they’re E.S.F.A fee’s paid. • The Central Venue League for Yr 3/4 Football will continue to run next year, for the summer the SSP we will be looking to launch a KS2 Girls football league and a Hi-5 Netball league to run along side this. • We would still like schools to declare an interest asap so dates can be set and an entry form for the appropriate leagues will be made available via the website and newsletter in the very near future.

  22. - Spring Update Last term the Partnership successfully accessed over £9,000 in funding for Sport Unlimited after school clubs. Over 20 schools within the partnership claimed funding for well in excess of 40 different after school clubs, ranging from Carpet Bowls to Tennis. In the Spring term these clubs catered for approx. 800 pupils, ranging from KS1 through to KS4. The funding will continue to be available throughout the Summer term, however accessing this will require schools to commit to certain guidelines to fall in line with the Sport Unlimited’s new priorities. Autumn funding: Income Code: 705113,Description: Other Government Grant, along with the amount of funding claimed.

  23. Guidance on Delivery Funding • It can only be used to fund activities which: • have a clearly identified club/other community setting or exit route in order for pupils to continue participation. The SSP Club Links officer will assist with setting up School to Club links. • demonstrate opportunities for sustained participation and progression pathways. • are new or build on/extend existing provision enhancing good quality delivery. • are targeted at young people who are identified as ‘semi sporty’. • children and young people want to participate in. • the SSP hopes schools will access the funding to help deliver clubs which will tie in with festivals/competitions.
