Policy & Procedures • Company computers can not be used for personal use • Internet service should be used for company business only • Information on computers can be monitored without notice and is the property of the company • Violation of company computer and internet agreement can lead to termination YOU'RE FIRED!

  7. Signed Contract/Agreement • Most employers require the employees to sign a contract stating that they understand the rules and consequences for using the company’s computer • Some companies require the employees to sign this agreement once a year at their performance reviews • These contracts are legal and binding and can be used in the court of law in the event of a lawsuit or legal actions

  8. Federal Government Agreements • Signed “contracts” in place for both government agencies & subsidiaries of all users • Include section for both computer use and for Internet use • Lengthy and precise

  9. State Government Agreements • Signed contract/agreement in place for most users, typically employees • Include section for both computer use and for Internet use • Less lengthy, but still precise

  10. Local Government Agreements • Some signed agreements for employees, most verbal by handbook or cyber site • One section includes all terms and conditions • General and vague

  11. Acceptable Internet Use Policy Davidson County Schools requires an Internet Use Policy to be signed by the guardian and kept with the students school record.

Conditions, Rules, and Acceptable Use Policy • All students and staff must attend training • The Internet’s purpose is to facilitate communications in support of research and education • The use of the Internet is a privilege, not a right • All students must return a form signed by the parent and the student before accessing the Internet at school. • Students may not download any games or unauthorized websites.

  13. Responsible Internet Users • Use the Internet to research assigned classroom projects • Use the Internet to explore software programs that will enhance their learning.

  14. Using the Internet wisely will enhance your education. Take advantage of every opportunity you have to learn about technology. At NDHS we are lucky to have 2 computer labs and a wireless lab.
