The Successful Model The Quantico Government Contractors Association (QGCA) • Incorporated as a South Carolina Corporation on 4 December 2002 • Based on a grassroots formation called the “Technology Leadership Forum”, an offshoot committee of the Lowcountry Chapter of AFCEA • ~ 60 full members, ~ 100 Affiliate members • Nonprofit 501 ( C) (6) • Team work, Community Outreach and Focus
Incorporated in the Commonwealth of Virginia - 27 February 2008 - The QGCA – “Similar but Different” • Nonprofit 501 (c)(6) • Business League • Separate and Perpetual Legal Existence • Facilitate team work between Government and Government Contractors • Bring focus on the Community and promote business • Provide funds for Community Outreach
QGCA Mission • General: Address issues and opportunities facing the greater Quantico VA government professional services contractor community. • Specific: • Perform as an advocacy group for the professional government contractor industry in the greater Quantico geographical area • Take actions to develop or improve the local government contractor community’s ability to develop, attract, retain, and more effectively execute business opportunities • Foster the increased and improved interaction between government contractors for accomplishment of better services to the government • Provide liaison with local, state, and federal governmental agencies, elected officials, legislatures, and special groups and committees • Provide funded outreach programs to the community
The Business Environment and Challenges The Virginia Business Environment VA leads all States in Defense Procurement Contracts – $45.3 billion VA leads all States Federal Money Received – per capita ~$14 thousand The newest new reality THE ECONOMY?

Next Six Months • Next Six Months • Continue to solicit support: Door to Door • Large and small government contractors • County Government • Federal Government to include: DEA, FBI and Justice • Regional and local Chambers/Economic Development Organizations • Arrange Next Meeting: Mid March • Introduce Member Companies • Install New Board Members • Announce Support to the Community Initiatives
