  3. WHAT IS A TITLE I SCHOOLWIDE PROGRAM? A Title I Schoolwide program permits a school to use Title I funds and other Federal education funds to upgrade the entire educational program.

  4. TITLE I SCHOOLWIDE PROGRAMS • Provide Flexibility • Built on schoolwide reform strategies, rather than add-on services • Programs do not have to identify particular children as eligible for services

  5. TITLE I SCHOOLWIDE PROJECTS • All staff---professional and paraprofessional must meet highly qualified standards • Must maintain services for most needy students • Must include broad-based involvement in developing the plan

  6. Highly Qualified Requirements Two-year Associate’s Degree or the equivalent (the completion of 48 credits from an accredited college/university) OR College or University Degree OR

  7. Highly Qualified Requirements Complete the requirements for the “North Carolina Association of Teacher Assistants (NCATA) Professional Development Program for Instructional Associate Certification-Level I” or the “North Carolina Department of Labor Teacher Assistant Certification Program.” OR

  8. Highly Qualified Requirements 96 hours of continuing education and score at least Reading – Level 4 Math – Level 4 Business Writing – Level 3 On the WorkKeys assessments Complete during your 40 hour work week.

  10. At Wake Tech, complete the waiver and registration paperwork. Let Wake Tech know that you are a WCPSS Teacher Assistant and need to take Business Writing. Take a pre-assessment to determine where you need to begin in the CRC Program. Registration at Wake Tech

  11. Completing HQ Requirements The CRC Program is an Online program that has levels that build on skills. You will work through the levels during your 40 hour work week. No comp time is given for hours spent outside of your 40 hours working to complete the requirements. When ready for assessments, pre-register for assessment(s) one week before taking. Schedule is on schoolwide wiki. You may take up to 3 assessments per day. School pays for assessment with general funds.

  12. Send documentation of test scores and 96 continuing education hours in ONE packet to Leigh Mobley in HR at Crossroads I. Completing HQ Requirements

  13. Applied Math -required score 4 ($10) 55 minutes for 33 questions Reading for Information -required score 4 ($10) 55 minutes for 33 questions Business Writing -required score 3 ($20) 55 minutes Locating Information –optional ($10) 55 minutes 38 questions Assessment Information

  14. 96 Hours Continuing education credits can be a combination of • hours working on CRC Program • eSchools hours • college credits

  15. 1.5 hours for this meeting For additional hours through tutoring (outside of CRC Program), book study, PLT, or other hours approved by your principal, enroll in: Highly Qualified TA Assessment Preparation B, SRN 126528201,eSchools manager at your school will enter documented hours eSchools

Assist Teacher Assistants with scheduling (registration, hours to work on CRC Program, assessments) to meet coverage requirements at your school Notify eSchools manager at your school to add documented hours of continuing education for Teacher Assistants If needed, create TA cohort to complete a book study to assist with meeting 96 hours requirement Principals’ Information

  18. Teacher Assistants will not be reimbursed for travel to and from Wake Tech. No comp time may be allowed for time spent outside of the 40 hour work week to complete the CRC Program or assessments. Principals’ Information

  19. Principals’ Information If you cannot find anyone to cover for a Pre-K, 1:1, or self-contained special education Teacher Assistant to leave campus for registration or assessments, contact Patty Carter in the Title I office. Principals need to make meeting Schoolwide requirements a priority.
