JAPAN QUAKE RELIEFGifts & Bake Sale with Silent AuctionAPRIL 12 & 13, 2011 BAXTER CENTER Sponsored by STARS (Staff Representatives)
More than 37 students and employees jumped at the chance to volunteer at the sale, which took place over 2-days at the NSCC Baxter Student Events Center. More people provided baked goods and gifts to sell. Countless people bought goods.
Not only cookies, cakes and pastries, but delightful unique, handmade and/or Japanese goods were sold to benefit survivors in Japan.
A silent auction featured kimonos, yukata, tea sets, embroidered aprons, origami, gift sets, and instructor-made ceramics.
Volunteers from all over campus held the sale from 9 am – 1 pm, then 4 pm – 6 pm on both days.
All funds collected at the sale and auction were dedicated to the Red Cross in Japan.
After the first day, STARS collected $1,800 to benefit Japanese Red Cross.
At the end of the 2-day fundraiser, over $3,500 was raised for survivors of the earthquake and tsunami.
Thank you to everyone who participated, as volunteers and donors, and to you, for viewing our photo album!
