  2. Goal:To underscore the urgency of serious problems in the United States (1) Accessing quality health care; & (2) Bringing to the attention of elected officials & the public possible solutions and models of delivery that currently exist to solve these problems

  3. How did this particular movement for field hearings get started? • Dr. Marie DiCowden, Vice President of Public Policy for The National Academies of Practice, a distinguished and independent group of healthcare providers, is the convening chair with the support of the NAP and other coalitions.

  4. The National Academies of Practice supports: Access to quality healthcare for all and a model of healthcare that promotes an emphasis on health and interdisciplinary care.

  5. Hearings will be: • Bi-partisan • Federal level – up to 20 panelists • Even number of Democrats & Republicans from U.S. Congress • Florida State & So. Florida elected officials invited as guests
