Guardian Angel: Objectives • Respond to the upcoming feast of the Guardian Angels by representing their own. • combine several media in one piece of art: pencil, crayon, watercolor, chalk, paper and glue, glitter. • Learn to use and several processes: • drawing with crayon, pencil, and glue • painting with watercolor resist • Cutting on undulating curves • smearing pastel • Controlling glue to prep for glitter • Choosing areas of a composition to emphasize • View angels in famous art. (slides and laserdisk)

  3. Guardian Angels: steps • Discuss the upcoming holyday. Discuss how angels are holy. Learn prayer to our guardian angel • Given an oval for the head and a crayon, draw their guardian angel. • Demonstrate methods to use and control watercolor. Keeping in mind these will be cut out, use over the crayon. Let dry. • Draw a glove line around the painting. Cut on it. Learn to cut on undulating line. • On background paper, smear pastel on it to make it look deeper. Glue angel to the background. • (With orange cap glue,) draw on glue where you want your angel to look special. Don’t cover what you want to show. • Take to Mrs. Sturm to get the glitter applied. • View angels in art slide show.
