A few years ago we highlighted Shore House, a sleek LEED certified home on Vancouver’s North Shore.
The builder, Steve Hoiles of Surfside Projects, has relocated to California, where he continues to build progressively designed houses that combine green building practices and eco-friendly materials with creative design concepts.
Writes Steve: “This design is our interpretation of the ‘open concept’ plan which advocates a functional interior layout along with a direct connection to outdoor living.”
That connection is evident in these views of the house, with the indoor and outdoor environments blending seamlessly into each other.
One clever design mod moved an interior window down to floor level.
“This added natural light in front of the stairs as well creating more visual interest, instead of just looking at the side of the neighbor's house. The hardwood flooring was installed to butt right up against the window frame.”
The style is Longstrip Brushed Oak Natural from the Elements line.
