UN Human Rights Council adopted on 30 September 2010 that access to water and sanitation is a human right. There are still more than 780 million without a satisfactory source of water, and climate change and population growth will hit hardest those who have the poorest water and sanitation today. Investing in water pays off, because improved water and sanitation could prevent 9.1% of all diseases, 6.3% of all deaths, a total saving 2.5 million lives annually.
