“Let’s Hear it for the cheerleaders” • Share one example of humor you identified. • Create a chart like the one below. • Come up with the best five examples of humor and write them in the left column. • Determine the technique the author is using and write that in the center column. Hint: There could be more than one technique at play. • Then, determine the implied message and write it in the right column.

Provide a specific examplefrom the text and explain how that example conveys the tone word you listed for #1. • #2 on page 231: Identify and explain an example of irony.
