Bayside Academy Bayside Academy is One School with Two Interconnected Programs STEAM program (K-5) on the West side of campus STEM program (6-8) is a fully functional middle school on the East side of campus
Bayside Academy Student Population 2018 – 2019 Total Enrollment = 929 Students K-5th Grade: 254 Students 6th Grade: 238 Students 7th Grade: 208 Students 8th Grade: 229 Students

Mission Statement • The mission of Bayside Academy is to engage all students through integrated learning experiences that encourage critical thinking and a growth mindset. We are a community built on collaboration, communication, and positive relationships, where we encourage all students to be lifelong learners.
Vision Statement • At Bayside Academy, every child is inspired to develop and grow through student-centered learning that promotes equity, inclusivity, and positive school experiences.
California Content Standards • All students at Bayside learn core subjects through • state adopted, high quality, California Content Standards. • ELA/ELD -Springboard • Math – College Prep Math • Science - Next Generation Science Standards (adoption work in progress) • Social Studies – Framework being adopted • *California state standards are based on Common Core national standards
Specialized Programs • ALL of our students are Bayside students. • However, we also have a variety of specialized programs: • - K-5 STEAM, 6-8 STEM • - Newcomers (6th-8th) • - GATE (Gifted and Talented Education) • - Mandarin (6th-8th) • We work together to meet the needs of ALL students.
Enrichment Opportunities • CLUBS: Lunchtime and after school • Examples include: Art, STEM, Yearbook, Math Circles, • Sci Fi, Anime and Drawing, Tutoring, Pride, • Mandarin, Bayside GIVES, etc. • SPORTS: After school • Fall: Volleyball, Cross Country, Flag Football • Winter: 7/8 Basketball • Spring: 6th Basketball, Track and Field, Soccer, Tennis

Restorative Practices • Goal : To develop community and to manage conflict and tensions by repairing harm and restoring relationships • Proactive: Classroom community circles • Reactive: Self reflection after infraction

Student Schedule All students take 7 classes 6th & 7th grade: ELA (2 periods), Social Studies, Math, P.E., Science, Elective 8th grade: ELA, Social Studies, Math, P.E., Science, Elective 1, Elective 2
Student Schedule - Math Most students in 6th grade take 6th Grade Math using the rigorous Common Core State Standards. However… Some students qualify for the compacted pathway which includes a rich diversity of students. Invitations to the compacted pathways are based on a series of District criteria.
Electives 6th Grade Wheel Robotics, Coding, Maker, 3-D Printing Design Thinking Foundations Intro to Music OR Beginning Band, Beginning Strings Support Classes for math 7 and 8th Electives Maker, 3D, and Robotics Art Wheel: Aeronautics, Biotech, Astronomy Concert Band, Orchestra Support Classes for math

Drop Off and Pick Up Please consider dropping off and picking up your middle school student at a designated spot a block or two away from campus to avoid traffic congestion.
