Let’s Grow San Antonio Workshops CONDUCTED BY THE ABLDP ENVIRONMENTAL GROUP
LET’S GROW SAN ANTONIO WORKSHOPS The ABLDP Environmental Group is proposing to conduct quarterly, hands-on gardening workshops at Home Depot that teach fellow San Antonians unique and green projects. Mason Jars Herb Garden TopsyTurvy Flower Planter Succulent Garden Salsa Garden
PURPOSE AND NEED Why are we doing this? What is the point of the workshops? LACK OF GREEN SPACE—San Antonio is a highly urbanized area due to the ever-growing population and economic development in the region. More Gardens = More Green Space!! LACK OF KNOWLEDGE—A large reason why people don’t garden is due to lack of information. • Our workshops will provide gardening knowledge via informative and interactive classes taught by knowledgeable staff. • Our Facebook page will offer a mass library of gardening resources such as instructionals, advice, planting seasons, upcoming events, etc. LACK OF NUTRITION—Over 95 percent of the people in San Antonio eat less than the recommended five servings of fruit and vegetables daily. Our workshops will provide direct access to a diversity of nutritionally-rich foods.
LET’S HEAR THE DETAILS!! • Quarterly workshops held at Home Depot beginning in 2015 • Cheap and open to the general public! • Each workshop geared towards a specific DIY project • Participants will take home a completed project • For gardeners of all levels!
UPCOMING WORKSHOPSThe first Let’s Grow San Antonio workshops that will be offered, include the following DIY projects: • 1st Workshop: Mason Jars Herb Garden • 2nd Workshop: Salsa Garden • 3rd Workshop: TopsyTurvy Flower Planter • 4th Workshop: Succulent Garden
WANT MORE? In addition to our quarterly workshops, “Let’s Grow, San Antonio!” has a open-group Facebook page that provides invaluable gardening resources, such as: • A library of gardening instructionals • Event Calendar • Open Forum Come like us on Facebook now at: https://www.facebook.com/letsgrowsanantonio
