  3. “Standards” are critical to getting accurate results. These are known amounts of chemicals that are used during each analysis. They are kept under lock-and-key in the lab.

  4. This is a PCB lab. AXYS generally processes 9 samples plus a blank, a reference material, and a batch duplicate. So you can see 12 columns in the back.

  5. Analyzing for dioxins is complicated. There are very small amounts that have to be separated from other persistent organic pollutants. Each analysis takes 4-6 days.
