3. What is it? The White Pine Award™ reading program offers high school-aged teens at all grade levels the opportunity to read the best of Canada’s recent young adult fiction titles.

4. of the Program • To promote reading for enjoyment among high school students • To make students aware of quality Canadian young adult books • To provide opportunities for students to discuss the nominated titles

5. What’s Involved? • You will read 10 of the nominated books • You must read a minimum of 5 books to vote! • As a group we will meet to discuss the books (and enjoy some refreshments too) • Along with students from across the province, you will vote on the most popular book at a regional conference in April.
