Children spend more time in front of screen nowadays: TV’s, computers, handheld games, IPods, and smartphones In the information age children spend more time in front of small screen than ever before causing: • Eye problems • Obesity • High Blood Pressure • Depression • Isolation • Causes screen addiction E-Readers: More Harm than Good?
Children are clumsy and if they break them parents have to replace the reader. Some of which can be expensive • Less expensive E-readers can be discontinued and their information is no longer usable • Stunts imagination in children because they no longer have to imagine what the author is trying to convey • Some come with a “Read to Me” feature that reads the book aloud like an audio book But I was told it was convenient…
Reading not only makes a lifetime bond between parent and child but is key for smart, productive children!
