  3. “…the surprising truth is that even with all the advances in electronics and gadgetry, reading to children and having them read is still one of the most important skills to give a child.” -Brenda Gargus • Reading to a child can promote a child’s cerebral and emotional development • By reading to young children a parent helps instill a love of books in children and helps them want to read more. • Reading to a child is not only a good way to foster a love of reading but also a way to spend some quality time between parent and child. • Reading with a child develops new brain waves and builds a large vocabulary that helps them in school The Importance of Reading Books To Children

  5. How are they connected? One of the biggest and most popular features on the E-Reader is the “Read-a-loud” feature meant for readers with bad eyes and people with reading disabilities. This could be deter child from even trying to learn how to read at all. Illiteracy & The E reader

Children spend more time in front of screen nowadays: TV’s, computers, handheld games, IPods, and smartphones In the information age children spend more time in front of small screen than ever before causing: • Eye problems • Obesity • High Blood Pressure • Depression • Isolation • Causes screen addiction E-Readers: More Harm than Good?

  7. Children are clumsy and if they break them parents have to replace the reader. Some of which can be expensive • Less expensive E-readers can be discontinued and their information is no longer usable • Stunts imagination in children because they no longer have to imagine what the author is trying to convey • Some come with a “Read to Me” feature that reads the book aloud like an audio book But I was told it was convenient…
