Formatting Your Title Page • Put your curser at the very top of your paper. • Go to “insert” • Select “page break” (third in from the left) • Go to top of newly page created and center your curser • <ENTER>approx. 4 times, Type “American Academy Charter School” • <ENTER> approx. 8 times, type [your paper name] • <ENTER> approx. 10 times, type [your name] • <ENTER> 1 time, type “Language Arts, 6[x]” • <ENTER> 1 time, type Today’s date (April 22, 2013) • <ENTER> 1 time, type teacher’s name (Ms. Semerod) • ESSENTIALLY, THE TITLE OF YOUR PAPER SHOULD BE IN THE MIDDLE, YOUR NAME, etc., SHOULD BE THE LAST 4 LINES PRIOR TO THE START OF THE NEXT PAGE, and “AMERICAN ACADEMY…” SHOULD BE CLOSE TO THE TOP…SEE EXAMPLE ON NEXT PAGE.
Formatting Page Numbers • Go to the top of your document (now the title page) • Go to “INSERT” • Select “PAGE NUMBER” • When options appear, select the one that puts the numbers at the TOP OF THE PAGE, the RIGHT HAND SIDE • IN FRONT OF THE NUMBER, type your LAST NAME • At the top, select “DIFFERENT FIRST PAGE” so that the page numbers do NOT appear on the title page.
Works Cited • Your Works Cited page is a page all on it’s own. • At the top, centered, type “Works Cited” • Organize your 6 citations in alphabetical order, following the example. • You should already have all of the required information, you just need to put it in the right format.
