WHO AND WHY The Janjaweed (Devils on horseback), Arabic Muslims, have attacked the Black Africans, many of whom are also Muslim Janjaweed Militiamen are primarily nomadic Arab tribes who for a long time have been at odds with African farmers The Janjaweed or nomadic Arab herders seek to take the land that the African farmers are living on The Sudanese Government has actually supported the Janjaweed in its attacks Janjaweed Soldiers (Arab Soliders)

Man Made Atrocity Since 2003, over 300,000 men and women have been killed by Janjaweed and government soldiers 2.6 million people have been displaced An unknown number of women and girls have been abducted and abused Children become orphans and homeless (They are a Lost Generation) African village attacked by Janjaweed

  5. Dangerous Government The Sudanese Government supports the Janjaweed (Arab) soldiers The Sudanese Government even has its own army carry out attacks on the African farmers of Darfur Arial attacks have also been launched on the African villages of Darfur Sudanese Government Soldiers

  7. Resistance The Sudanese Liberation Army and African Militias fight back against the Janjaweed and Sudanese Government Sudanese Liberation Army soldier

The Trouble Spreads Over 250,000 of Darfurs Africans have become refugees in Chad, and more than 2 million are internally displaced in Sudan The spread of the conflict into Chad has also uprooted over 170,000 Chadians who remain vulnerable to attacks by armed groups, prompting the need for an effective security presence in Eastern Chad, as well as Darfur.
