The new Standard Data Form (SDF) • Commission Implementing Decision of 11 July 2011 concerning a site information format for Natura 2000 sites (2011/484/EU) • Commission Implementing Decision of 11 July 2011 • Published on Official Journal on 30 July 2011 • The Reference Portal for Natura 2000 • includes code-lists, etc. • can be amended by the Committee as far as under the influence of DG ENV/Habitats Committee • It is also the place to find implementation tools

Technical implementation • Phase I: • transfer data from old to new format, adapting information where needed, filling gaps / updating information that is readily available (start: 1st October 2011) • uploading the new version on ReportNet • until end of September 2012 to coincide with deadline for community list compilation process. • Phase II: • filling gaps / update information that is not readily available (primarily information in the “Ecological information” section) • until 2015

  4. The new data transfer formats • Replacing the current MS Access database template • Two new data transfer formats are offered now to Member States for official submission of their data • A new MS-Access database template • A XML Schema • They can be used indiscriminately for delivering new national datasets • See note to the Habitats Committee of 21 September 2011

  5. The Natura 2000 software • Currently under development by contractor of EEA • 1st version to be released end of October 2011 • Hand-on Workshop planned for 1st December 2011 in Copenhagen (EEA)
