  1. Our Team: The Essentialists • Alanya Green, Associate Program Manager, NYC • Anukampa Gupta, Development/Global Fellow (India), DC • Kasia Orzechowski, Product Development Fellow, Advisory Services (NYC) • Kristin Teti, Program Develop Manager, National (DC) • Mila Gonzalzles, Accounting Associate, National (BA)

  2. What is your idea that would make significantly more nonprofit employees take advantage of quality pro bono resources? Harley Davidson gets: We want: • The Idea: Habitualize Pro Bono • Simply put , make Pro Bono a Habit- a good habit. • Tattoo Pro Bono into brain circuits of Nonprofit Employees, and, as a result, make it an effortless action: a Habit! PRO BONO

  3. What is your high-level plan for successfully making this happen? • We tattoo ‘Pro Bono as a Habit’ through scientifically proven habit-forming methodologies and the creation of Habit Loops. • This habitualized behavior is marketed through a campaign to create Essentialist Nonprofits*. • Values of the Essentialist Nonprofit • Audacity • Discernment • Self-Investment • This Essentialist behavior is enforced by a tactical gamification methodology. • This behavior is craved for by nonprofits because it offers Epic Experiences**. • The end-product of our Habitualization Process is: • A nonprofit for which Pro Bono remains a habitual consideration. • With this, therefore, the capacity to proactively plan for, seek out and utilize pro bono resources.

  4. How the success of this idea be measured? • Number of nonprofits that engage in Habitualization Process (or Tattooing Pro Bono) • Number of nonprofits that habitualize pro bono (at close of program and at 3 month follow up) • Number of nonprofits who graduate as Essentialist • Number of nonprofits who increase their pro bono engagement (at 3 month and 6 month) • Promoter score (likelihood to recommend Habitualization Process) • Nonprofit Essentialist Index***

  5. How do you envision this idea getting to a very large scale when implemented? • By engaging aspiring Skilled Volunteers to promote and facilitate the Essentialist Campaign • A glimpse of this can be witnessed in the over 1 million aspiring Skilled Volunteers on LinkedIn • What does this engagement look like during implementation and scaling? • Recruit skilled volunteers as Essentialist Coaches • Train skilled volunteers as Essentialist Coaches • Use gamification mechanism to reward coaches • Coaches receive points for every nonprofit that graduates as an Essentialist • Coaches receive points for every Pro Bono engagement undertaken by the Essentialist nonprofit • An analogy to this system would be rewards by Foursquare, Starbucks, Uber, Evernote. • A cult and pride around an “Essentialist NPO” and with that, the Essentialist NPO Index. • Our process is designed for scale by leveraging the existing network of Intermediaries and nonprofits.
