  3. The Challenges Scalable Multi Channel Communication: • Reach the greatest possible target audience with the smallest possible effort • Reduce the amount of work required for filling out and observing the various communication channels • Enable more precise targeting and optimized positioning

  4. The Solution: implementation http://www.innsbruck.info/en http://blog.innsbruck.info/en/

  5. Publication rules • When to publish? • Where to publish? • What to publish? • How to publish? • Determined by the publication rules in the weaver

  6. Publication rules • According to the publication rules we can determine: • When the information should be published • E.g. in the case of an event: the week before, the date of the event • In which channels should be suggested the publication of the new content • Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, LinkedIn (channels used by TVB Innsbruck) • If the same content should be disseminated in all the channels • If 1 or several publications should be created • Different content disseminated in different channels

  7. Publication rules • If we want this to work: • Content should be annotated with schema.org • According to the selected channel a content adaptation is required.

  8. Conceptual Approach Conceptual Solution: • Separate content from channels • Defining models for content and channels • Then, interlinking content and channels models with an intermediary component OC presentation available: http://oc.sti2.at/results/presentations Zaenal Akbar, José María García, Ioan Toma, Dieter Fensel. On Using Semantically-Aware Rules for Efficient Online Communication. The 8th International Web Rule Symposium, Prague, Czech Republic, August 18-20, 2014

  10. Implementation (production version) • Rules related to publications on the web (1) What? Where? How?

  11. Implementation (production version) • Rules associated to publications related to Events (6) • Information from annotations is extracted related to the dates of the events and used to suggest a publication • Suggest publications if the event is in: • 2 weeks, 1 week, next monday, now both for facebook and twitter What & When?

  12. Improvements • Groups • Allow to post the same publication through the different channels • 1 publication adapted to the most restrictive channel • E.g. In terms of characters space & image • Improve the performance of the weaver (less objects, less rules) • Also possible to create channel request associated by requirements • Same publication for twitter and LinkedIn

  13. Implementation (next version) What? How? Exactly same content in the 3 channels published according to the most restrictive channel

  14. What happens when new content is detected?
