  2. Security seals are highly in demand for various purposes like sealing equipment during transit, utility meters, truck trailers, etc. They cost less and perform great work. They are made from lead and polypropylene plastic. Bolt seal, plastic seal, cable seal, meter seal, plastic meter seal are different types of security seals available in the market. Earlier there were only lead and steel seals in the market with some variations. Plastic security seals are manufactured as adjustable and fixed length.

Adjustable length seals are used to seal many applications like chemical drums, first aid kits, fire extinguishers, sacks, etc. Seals are made of different mechanisms to protect the equipment from stealing or to prevent any mishap from happening out of it. Constant improvement in technological applications and development has brought about tremendous changes. Security seals don’t guarantee complete protection but they reduce the loss to a considerable extent.

But later there were acrylic jackets made to protect the meter seal from external factors like water, light, cold, and ice. The tampering can be easily seen through acrylic covering. Meter seals are used for keeping the electric meter secured and safe from tampering. They are mostly transparent which enables the people to see any tampering for electric meters or gas meters. They come in different forms like triple lock wire seals, double lock seals, and metal locking plunger seals. Meter seals are like twisting cable seals wherein one end is fixed in the device and the other end is secured inside the lock body. Cable seals are very efficient in electric and gas meters as they guarantee complete protection in an adverse environment. There is the company’s name logo, bar code, QR code, and sequential numbers on the meter seals.
