Characteristics • B2B programme (EUR 15 mln p/a) • Commercially feasable projects, no commercial financing possible • Max. project budget: EUR 1.5 Million • EVD grant: 50 - 100% (no loan!) • Contract between EVD and Dutch company based on results • B2G/G2G programme (EUR 10 mln p/a) • Long term action plan for solving particular trade related issues and strengthening specific sectors • Several instruments

Results • More than 800 projects since 1990 in CEE region • Programme has been active in more than 20 CEE countries • Main sectors: agribusiness, industry, transport • Spin off: • Increase of turnover and investment (multiplier = 5) • Increase of business contacts (>8) • Sustainable employment

  9. Future • Political developments • Focus on integrated use of instruments in long term action plans. • Support of excellency in public private partnerships • Focus on emerging markets and/or innovative sectors • From grant to guarantee
