Save Our Planet Go Green Presentation Sherry’s Marketing Service
Project Overview and Objectives • I will talk about going green; and why? • I will talk about Global Warming and why we need to believe it is happening and what we need to do about it. • I will also talk about politics and issues that need to be addressed. I think if we fight we can fix them, but we need to speak up. • (My Saying)- If you cut your finger you put a Band-Aid on it, if you slice it, you get stitches. Well, you cannot cut or slice earth and expect to put a band aid on it or stitch it, doesn’t work.)
Why Should We Go Green? • Because we use to much garbage • Too many people run their cars for no reason • Too many people throw usable things out that other people could use instead • Rule of thumb: if your not using it turn it off • Don’t throw furniture, clothes Etc, out: If it is usable give it to People To People, someone in need Including books to: Books for the poor children. • I notice people have lights on in every room (House)
Ways to Go Green • Use energy saving light bulbs, thermostats, refrigerators, etc… • Use reusable shopping bags, and the plastic bags can be used for garbage liners for small and medium garbage cans instead of buying them. • Insulate windows in winter keeps heat in, not out. • Run less water when doing dishes or taking a shower, (ex)- shave before you get in, and run dishwasher and washer at same time uses less water. • Get air conditioners that have a timer to set when it comes on and goes off.
Benefits of Going Green • Your electric and water bill will be lower and less electric and water will be used. • Recycle more garbage and there will be less garbage to dump. I shred a lot of my papers. • Leave less lights on when you are not using them. • Don’t leave your car running for no reason, for long periods of time. • Plan your day when running errands, so you save time and gas. Go from point A to B and back, etc… if you have to make a list.
Community Involvement • 1st- keep your garbage in the cans not on the ground. • 2nd- If you see people running there cars to long remind them about the idle law it is stiff with fines and jail time. • 3rd- recognize the changes in Global Warming and speak up, get people involved before it is to late. • 4th-Donate to charities for Global Warming if you can, every little bit helps the fight.
Go Green Products • Bio degradable products • Recycle your plastic bags, bottles … • Don’t throw garbage on the ground it goes in a GARBAGE CAN??? • Energy star products

You will be surprised at what you read. • Cars, trucks, buses, trains, electricity, and more… • Next section on politics and Ideas how to decrease deficit.
Politics and Ideas • Budgets- School- So why can’t we just put the money in a escrow acct, or an acct that the money can stay in and use it when it is needed instead of throwing out good equipment and spending money to buy more. This aggravates me. Do the same for any other budgets we have to. • Cutbacks- This is a kicker, our town closed the village police dept because of cutbacks, and if they actually think they saved money they didn’t, it actually not only got worse, it makes it harder for them to get down here for anything that happens in our town.
Politics and Ideas • Books- Instead of throwing out books, donate them to the Books for the Poor Children Program. Also, furniture and things I see people throw out, why not donate it to People to People or to someone who has nothing instead of throwing it out and wasting things. • Laws- Everyone is so worried about making stupid laws like the salt law when we have more to worry about like the financial deficit and no jobs. If someone doesn't want salt then you just tell the restaurant you don’t want salt. • Obama- now he came into the mess we are in, but I’m starting to ask myself when is he actually going to really do something, we can not wait to do something we need to do it
Politics and Ideas • President John F Kennedy- Notable passages • The most famous passage from the inaugural address is etched in stone at Kennedy's gravesite in Arlington National Cemetery, with the Lincoln Memorial and Washington Monument in the background. (Also the Presidents Park Williamsburg VA) I took Pictures on Vac • "...the belief that the rights of man come not from the generosity of the state, but from the hand of God.“ (It is from the hands of God and not the state) • "Let every nation know... that we shall pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship, support any friend, oppose any foe, to assure the survival and the success of liberty.“ ( if this was true then we would not be where we are right now, because we don’t do any of this) • "The world is very very different now. For man holds in his mortal hands the power to abolish all forms of human poverty and all forms of human life.“ (This is literally true, but we don’t follow this) • "Let us never negotiate out of fear. But let us never fear to negotiate.“(We negotiate with Bulling is how we do it) • "Ask not what your country can do for you - ask what you can do for your country“ ( Yes, It is to bad no one follows this motto) • "All this will not be finished in the first 100 days. Nor will it be finished in the first 1,000 days, nor in the life of this Administration, nor even perhaps in our lifetime on this planet. But let us begin.“ ( This is so true) • "...let us go forth to lead the land we love, asking His blessing and His help, but knowing that here on earth God's work must truly be our own.“ Maybe it should have stayed his and we wouldn’t be screwing the earth up) • Reference - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inaugural_address_of_John_F._Kennedy
