Project Overview Mathematics Learning Areas Levels 11 to 14 year olds Objectives To encourage and enhance Problem Solving abilities in the S1 and S2 year group. Description Pupils will be paired up and given a laptop PC. On these will be a collection of problems in the form of PowerPoint slideshows. Pupils will work through them, as directed, writing answers in a jotter for teacher to correct. Pace of progress will be on a par with ability. Saint Andrew’s High School, Clydebank The school aims are to help all pupils to achieve their full potential in each aspect of their development, academically, spiritually, physically, socially, personally and emotionally. The school itself opened in the late 1970’s and is coming to the end of it’s shelf life with a merger planned for around 2010. Andrew has been in the school for 3 years and is a maths teacher. He is a member of West Dumbarton’s GLOW Mentor group and is currently seconded to the Innovative Teacher Program for 20 days a year.
