The church is the temple of God • Ephesians 2:21-22, 1 Corinthians 3:16-17, Hebrews 8:1-2 • The place of worship, governed by priests and sacrifices and preserving the Law. God was reverenced and worshipped. The temple of God
The church as the temple: • Built by God with Christ as the Chief Cornerstone – 1 Corinthians 3:9-11, Ephesians 2:20, 1 Peter 2:6-7 • We are living stones in that temple – 1 Peter 2:4-5, Ephesians 2:19-21 The temple of God
