  4. Project Need • High traffic count • Narrow shoulders • Short on-ramps • Lack of bike facility • Better link between Rtes 135 and 166

  5. Project Purpose • Add additional lanes • Widen shoulders • Increase length of on & off-ramps • Add bike lane • Improve connection between Rtes 135& 166

  6. Project Description • Widening: Inside and outside of existing bridges • Three 12 foot lanes in each direction • 10 foot inside and outside shoulders • Bike path: • Completely separated from traffic by concrete barrier • next to SB lanes • Connections: • South end: connects to levee trail • North end: veers west to connect Hutton Road

  7. Schedule • Begin Construction • Fall 2011 • Complete Construction • Spring 2014

  8. Construction Costs • Anticipated Construction Costs: • Contractor: Flatiron West Inc. • Contract Amount: $30.9 million
