About Me!. Family. I have brother up at UNT working on his Bachelors degree and a little sister starting her sophomore year in Burleson. I come from a long line of teachers; Grandmother, two great aunts, two aunts, one uncle, mother, father, and various cousins.

Family I have brother up at UNT working on his Bachelors degree and a little sister starting her sophomore year in Burleson. I come from a long line of teachers; Grandmother, two great aunts, two aunts, one uncle, mother, father, and various cousins. I live here in Carrollton with my kitty Max.
Schooling • I graduated DAP and in the top 5% of my class from Burleson High School. • I graduated in the top of my class from Baylor University with a Bachelor of Science in Forensic Science with a minor in Chemistry and a minor in Biology. • This summer I graduated from the University of North Texas with a Master’s degree in Chemistry Education.

Pre-AP Supplies • 1. Pencil, pen and paper • 2. Scientific or graphing calculator • 3. Composition book for notes • 4. Three-ring binder with sections for notes, homework, quizzes, labs, returned papers. • This will count as a homework grade so keep up with your work!
AP Supplies • 1. Pencil, pen and paper • 2. Scientific or graphing calculator • 3. Composition book for lab write ups • 4. Suggested: Three-ring binder with sections for homework, quizzes, labs, returned papers. • 5. Students will be assigned textbooks.
Grading • Formative(25%) • class work • labs • homework • Very seldom will homework be graded. It is assigned so that you can master a concept that is being taught. Many times after an ungraded homework assignment, you can expect a quiz on the material. Keep the homework in your binder and check your answers either online or on one of the bulletin boards. • quizzes • A quiz will often be given at the beginning of class over a homework assignment. These will be one or two questions given in a limited time frame. Quizzes may be retaken for an 80. • Summative(75%) • tests • project (only one at the end of the year)
Re-Tests • IF you make below an 84 on a summative grade you will have ONE, and ONLY one chance to make that up to an 85. • You MUST do the following to get that chance: • Complete all formative grades • Correct the test you failed • Come to tutorials • Take new test … new test may change in format to all open ended. • All of these must be done within 5 days of receiving test grade.
Extra Credit Opportunity • A Mole Buck, worth 10 points on ANY grade, will be given for: • Bring to class a one item to be assigned AND -- Have a parent email me at moorecar@cfbisd.edu with your name as the subject.
Classroom Procedures • Upon entering the classroom you should move to your seat and have classroom supplies out and ready to start class. • If you need to use the bathroom you will need to give up a bathroom pass, gain permission, and take the pass. • Class ends when I say it ends, i.e. wait for me to dismiss you at the bell. • Seating arrangements will be assigned for the first 6 weeks. The privilege to pick your own seats can be gained for good class behavior.
