Team and Qualifications CARRIE HAUPT is a junior at Missouri State University with a Major in Public Relations at Missouri State University with a minor in Advertising and Promotion. Carrie is a University Ambassador for Missouri State. Carrie is also the Alumni Relations chairwoman for Gamma Phi Beta sorority. KYLE LEININGER is currently a student at Missouri State University, majoring in public relations with a minor in advertising and promotion. Kyle is a member of PRSSA and Missouri State Campus Recreation. Significant strengths in public presentation, creation of press releases and fact sheets, project planning, communication, and relationship development. Proven ability to retain and dynamically present large amounts of brand knowledge to a diverse public. MARY MARDIS is a junior at Missouri State University graduating in December 2014 with a major in Public Relations and a minor in Technical Writing. Mary has interned at the Discovery Center of Springfield as a Public Relations intern. She also served as the Vice President of Communication of Sigma Kappa Sorority.
Mission Statement Our mission at Barnabas is to show others the love of Christ in every aspect of our ministry. Our ministry is not only in changing the lives of those with special needs and chronic illnesses, but also in changing the lives of all who come in contact with Barnabas: campers, volunteers, parents, staff and donors.
Executive Summary Camp Barnabas’s social awareness needs To ensure that the mission, impact and success of Camp Barnabas is being shared with all who come in contact with the organization. The organization has expressed an interest in creating multiple avenues to create and share the experiences and stories of Camp Barnabas families, campers and volunteers. Camp Barnabas currently has a functional and aesthetically appealing website and Facebook. The organization is interested in adding a “My Story” tab to both the website and Facebook page that allow individuals to share their Camp Barnabas experience. The overall outcome of project is to raise awareness and share the impact of Camp Barnabas.

Overall Goal Creating awareness and understand of the Camp Barnabas mission and impact. To allow the local community to understand the focus and impact of Camp Barnabas through allowing a free flow of information. To enhance the reach of Camp Barnabas and it’s mission through collecting and sharing the stories and experiences of the families, campers and volunteers.
Project Objectives Creating Awareness Sharing Stories
Project Strategies Contact all of the past volunteers of Camp Barnabas. Create email address to allow submissions of stories. Work with Krista and Alison to create letter to contact campers and families. Create Facebook cover photo/drawing submission area.
Project Tactics • Create and distribute press release regarding the Big Party Marathon. • Gain administrator access to Camp Barnabas Facebook. • Produce and distribute news release to the following outlets. • Springfield News-Leader • The Standard (Missouri State University) • Ozarks Public Television (Missouri State University) • KSM U Radio (Missouri State University)
Proposed Timeline March 3rd Meet as a team to begin work on the “My Story” tab March 15th Attend Barnabreak to experience Camp Barnabas, interact with campers and volunteers, collect video footage, and interview Jason Brawner (CEO). March 20th Submit news release to the aforementioned news outlets April 1st Meet with client to discuss the stories that have been received thus far and begin the “Camper of the Week” Facebook post. April 8th Create the second “Camper of the Week” Facebook post.
Proposed Timeline April 12th Collected received stories and submit them to Krista for review and submission to the website. April 25th Create the third “Camper of the Week” Facebook post. May 4th Finalize stories for submission to Focus on Family May 10th Ensure Krista and Alison have access to all of the volunteer/camper stories in an organized system and meet to wrap up project.
