3. Example 1 Write 86% as a decimal. Read the fraction properly. Then use place value! = 0.86 86% = 0.86

4. Example 2 Write 7% as a decimal. Rewrite the percent as a fraction with a denominator of 100. = 0.07 7% = 0.07.

5. To write a percent as a decimal, divide by 100 and remove the % sign. Just MOVE the decimal point 2 places to the LEFT = 0.48

8. To write a decimal as a percent, multiply by 100 and add the % sign. Just MOVE the decimal point 2 places to the RIGHT = 36%

9. Example 6 Write 0.44 as a percent. Write 44 hundredths as a fraction. = 44% Write the fraction as a percent. 0.44 = 44%.
